About the MS Activities of Daily Living
The MS Activities of Daily Living (MS ADL) measure lets patients choose up to three important activities of daily living from a predefined list and rate their difficulty over time. Unlike the Patient-Specific Functional Scale, activities are chosen from predefined options and remain locked after the first submission, making follow-up scores directly comparable.

Developer Information
Custom Patient Watch MS ADL measure inspired by the Patient-Specific Functional Scale approach, using a predefined catalogue of activities of daily living.
Administration Instructions
On your first visit, select 1 to 3 activities of daily living from the list below that are important to you. Rate your current difficulty with each from 0 (no difficulty) to 10 (unable to perform). On later visits you will only re-rate the same activities.
Scoring Methodology
Patients select 1 to 3 activities of daily living from a predefined list on their first submission. Each selected activity is rated on an 11-point scale from 0 (no difficulty) to 10 (unable to perform). The mean difficulty across selected activities is stored as Average ADL Difficulty (0 to 10). Lower scores indicate less difficulty and better function.
Meaningful Change Threshold
A decrease of 2 points or more in average ADL difficulty may indicate clinically meaningful improvement.
Score Interpretation
Understanding what your score means
excellent
0 - 2Minimal difficulty with selected activities of daily living.
good
3 - 4Mild difficulty with activities of daily living.
moderate
5 - 6Moderate difficulty with activities of daily living.
poor
7 - 9Severe difficulty with activities of daily living.
unable
10Unable to perform the activity of daily living.
Clinical Limitations & Considerations
This is a custom measure and has not been independently validated. Activities of daily living are limited to the predefined list and cannot be personalised beyond selecting up to three options.
